Non-Fiction Text Structures


Text structures refer to how the information within a written text is organized. This reading skill teaches learners how to locate information they need to comprehend the text’s purpose, idea, and/or argument.

This sample provide an overview how educators can introduce text structures in the classroom and how evaluate its overall effectiveness in a non-fiction article. This learning tools in this lesson are designed for high schoolers. Certain sections of this lesson plan can be adapted for a middle school audience.
